Front Yard Bikes

Improving the employee experience of processing and storing donated bikes

Your old bikes can change lives

Front Yard Bikes is a community bike shop that focuses on teaching participants of all ages how to fix and maintain bikes. With over a 100+ bikes being donated every week, Front Yard Bikes needed a smart solution to manage this volume effectively.

Leading a team of three, we took on this mission to improve the daily working experience of Front Yard Bikes' employees.

When things get messy, a broom will not suffice; understanding how the mess came about and why the mess came about was essential to developing a solution that will stick.
Our proposal
This was the slide-deck we presented to Front Yard Bikes founder Dustin LaFont.
8 months later...
After understanding the different processes, systems, and mechanisms involved in a typical bike shop, we devised and implement a solution plan that would best help the Front Yard Bikes' employees to efficiently evaluate, manage, and maintain donated bikes.
Here's How we did it.
The following is our slide deck to showcase our process, methodologies, and outcomes  to the founder of Front Yard Bikes and to a panel of professors in the College of Engineering.
